They DIDN'T! Appeals Judges Make Insane Ballroom Ruling -They Just Put Trump In Danger

A man tried to assassinate the President of the United States at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April. Trump’s response was to build a more secure venue on White House grounds — a $400 million, 22,000-square-foot ballroom that eliminates the need to hold major events at external venues where security gaps are harder to control.
Two judges just told him he can’t.
The D.C. Circuit Court ruled 2-1 that the Trump administration likely cannot demolish the East Wing or proceed with above-ground construction on the new White House Ballroom without congressional authorization. The two judges in the majority — Patricia Millett, an Obama appointee, and Brad Garcia, a Biden appointee — apparently believe that the executive branch needs legislative permission to renovate the president’s own residence and working facility.
Judge Neomi Rao, the lone dissenter and the only Trump appointee on the panel, disagreed — and her dissent goes to the heart of why this ruling is constitutionally dubious. The executive branch has inherent authority over the White House compound. The president lives and works there. The security infrastructure of the presidency is an executive responsibility. Requiring congressional authorization for White House construction and renovation decisions turns a fundamental executive prerogative into a congressional veto over the president’s ability to run his own house. And never mind that many previous presidents have renovated parts of the White House without fussy political hacks disguised as judges interferring.
There’s also a small logistical problem with the majority’s ruling that the article notes almost in passing: the demolition of the East Wing has already happened. The construction is already underway. The court is issuing an order to stop something that is partially built — raising the question of what exactly it expects the administration to do at this point.
The 14-day pause gives the Trump administration time to appeal to the Supreme Court. They should do so immediately and they should win. The legal argument for congressional authority over White House construction decisions is weak. The president controls the White House. The White House is both a home and a national security facility. A court ruling that Congress must authorize specific renovation decisions at the executive residence would create a constitutional framework with no historical precedent and severe practical consequences.

The broader pattern here is as important as the specific ruling. Democrat attorneys general coordinated secretly for months before Trump took office to build a legal war machine against his presidency. Democrat judges have been issuing nationwide injunctions against executive actions at an unprecedented rate. And now two Obama-Biden appointees have decided they get to weigh in on the president’s construction plans at his own residence — based on a legal theory that the dissenting Trump-appointed judge found insufficient to justify the intervention.
This is going to the Supreme Court. The court that just cleared the way for the SAVE America Act’s mail ballot verification order — with a 6-3 conservative majority — is the right venue.
Build the ballroom. Win the appeal.
Andy Burnham provokes Brexiteer fury as he opens door to rejoin plan
The Prime Minister has left the door open to putting the case for Britain rejoining the European Union in Labour's next election manifesto.

Andy Burnham sparked fury by refusing to rule out a pledge to rejoin the EU at the next election.
The Prime Minister said whether Labour could promise to take Britain back into the bloc in its next manifesto was a question “for another day”.
Brexiteers accused the Labour leader of looking to the past, not the future and the opportunities made possible by leaving the EU.
Former Cabinet Minister Sir John Redwood said: “Rejoining the EU means trampling on our biggest ever democratic vote.It would bring higher taxes, slower growth and more unwanted laws like last time. Back to the seventies to go bankrupt with Labour.”
Conservative MP Dame Priti Patel warned Labour and Mr Burnham’s “covert rejoin agenda will leave Britain worse off and destabilise the economy”.
She added: “They would undermine existing trading relationships and new global opportunities to rejoin a club which British taxpayers would have to pay billions into.

“Britain needs a government focused on addressing the challenges we face, not Labour ministers blaming everyone else for the mess they've left the country in and who are desperate to surrender powers and money to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.”
Mr Burnham’s remarks signal a significant shift in tone from predecessor Sir Keir Starmer, who vowed to “make Brexit work” and ruled out returning to the EU, Single Market or customs union.

Mr Burnham was pressed on his Brexit plans as he flew to New York for his first United Nations General Assembly as Prime Minister.
He said: “Our focus at the moment is on a UK-EU summit which we hope will take place later this year.
“My immediate priority is to build on the good work that Keir did in rebuilding bridges.
“Because those bridges were broken in the early part of this decade, and Keir did a good job in re-establishing that relationship.
“What we have got to do is now go to the next level in terms of reaching practical agreement that will further boost the British economy.”
Referring to rejoining the EU, he added: “The other issues you discuss… they are for another day.”
Tory MP Wendy Morton said: “Andy Burnham came to power with no plan and no idea how to fix our broken economy or welfare system and fund our defence. Now it seems he is taking a leaf out of the Liberal Democrats’ book and looking to blame a vote that happened a decade ago for the problems he and his party have caused. On this, like so many things, he seems increasingly like Continuity Keir.”
Mr Burnham has previously said he wants Britain to rejoin the EU “within my lifetime”, although he later rowed back, saying he was not proposing doing so and respected the 2016 referendum.

The Prime Minister met European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen in New York on Tuesday as he tries to deepen ties with Brussels.
But he warned the EU’s “Made in Europe” measures could hurt British firms and supply chains.
Mr Burnham said: “We do have concerns about Made in Europe, which is something that could affect British industry and British supply chains.
“I will, in a constructive spirit, put on the table some of our concerns towards those things, at the same time as working towards what we hope will be a successful EU-UK summit later this year.”
Mark Francois MP, chairman of the European Research Group, said: “You only have to read Andy Burnham’s book, ‘Head North’, which he co-authored with Liverpool Mayor Steve Rotherham in 2024, to realise that he is slavishly pro-the EU and wants to rejoin it.
"However, just as he did during the Makerfield by-election, he wants to mask this, for fear of alienating Leave voters. Make no mistake, despite the referendum, B
Trump Bans News Outlets from the White House, Has a Thing for Mamdani & Is Melania A.I.?

Trump Bans News Outlets from the White House, Has a Thing for Mamdani & Is Melania A.I.?
On Jimmy Kimmel Live, host Jimmy Kimmel tackled a chaotic swirl of political theater and cultural absurdity surrounding Donald Trump. From an unprecedented White House press purge that forced Fox News to defend CNN, to an awkward buddy dynamic with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, questions surrounding a Russian oligarch bankrolling Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding, and an obsession with rebranding Artificial Intelligence, Kimmel laid bare the administration's latest spectacles. Read the full analytical breakdown below.
1. The White House Press Purge: Stripping Credentials from CNN, MSNBC, and Politico
The broadcast opened with Trump’s direct assault on the press pool. Reporters from CNN, MS Now (MSNBC), and Politico arrived for work at the White House only to have their credentials confiscated by the Secret Service under executive orders.
Addressing the ban from Gracie Mansion alongside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Trump offered a remarkably candid justification: he argued that the media has an obligation to write positive stories about him. He complained bitterly that news outlets never praise how he handles conflicts and insisted that because negative coverage hurts his feelings, critical journalists no longer deserve access to "the people's house."

The backlash was swift and historic: all five major broadcast networks—including Fox News—joined forces to issue a united statement rebuking the administration and defending independent reporting. The decision was reportedly triggered in the absence of Chief of Staff Susie Wiles after aide Natalie Harp presented Trump with a folder of negative press clips. The immediate consequence was pure dysfunction: during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new helicopter landing pad, no audio was recorded because the designated pool network had been barred from the grounds.
2. The Mamdani "Buddy Movie" & Don Jr.'s Russian Oligarch Wedding
Kimmel highlighted the surreal dynamic between Trump and New York City's democratic socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani. Despite their polar-opposite ideologies, Trump appeared visibly infatuated with Mamdani, whispering in his ear and patting his shoulder in what Kimmel described as the weirdest buddy road trip movie of all time.
However, the cozy press appearance was interrupted when reporters questioned Trump about reports that a Russian oligarch funded lavish wedding festivities for Donald Trump Jr. in the Bahamas. Trump offered a rambling defense, claiming accepting such gifts is "totally allowed" before insisting he "heard" Don Jr. paid the money back. Trump tried to normalize the transaction by boasting that he pays for people's wedding parties at Mar-a-Lago all the time—a claim Kimmel ridiculed by pointing out that Trump didn't even pay for his own son’s wedding.
3. The Rebranding of AI and the Satirical "Melania A.I." Theory
The final segment focused on Trump’s bizarre relationship with Artificial Intelligence. Rather than addressing the regulatory or security concerns surrounding the technology, Trump focused on branding. Arguing that "Artificial Intelligence" sounds neither elegant nor impressive enough, he launched a poll proposing bombastic alternatives such as Superior Intelligence (SI), Extreme Intelligence (EI), or Supreme Intelligence (SI).
Kimmel contrasted Trump's branding antics with Melania Trump’s sudden emergence as a passionate AI advocate. In her rare public appearances, the former First Lady has delivered speeches praising robotics and suggesting society must treat AI "as we would our own children." Noting her stiff posture, rigid walking alongside humanoid robots, and mechanical handshakes, Kimmel jokingly launched a satirical conspiracy theory: Melania became a U.S. citizen on July 28, 2006—the exact day a landmark paper on modern AI was published in the journal Science—mockingly asking if Melania herself might be an artificial construct.
Medical Examiner Releases New Details About Presley Gerber’s Death
Presley died on Sept. 20 at age 27
New details have been shared by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner following Presley Gerber’s Sept. 20 death at age 27.
On Sept. 21, the medical examiner’s office told PEOPLE that an exam is scheduled for today.
“The investigation is still ongoing and there is limited information available,” the statement continued. “Death was pronounced at 09:45 hours on September 20, 2026, by responding paramedics. The Santa Monica Police Department is the investigating law enforcement agency.”
Presley, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, as well as brother to Kaia Gerber, was at a rehab facility when he died, an L.A. County Medical Examiner’s report previously revealed.
A representative for Crawford, Rande and Kaia told PEOPLE, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
Prior to his death, Presley spoke about his mental health and his drug use.
“Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do,” he said on the Studio 22 podcast in 2023.
In one of his final social media posts prior to his death, Presley shared a video of himself before he underwent an “ibogaine flood dose.” Ibogaine, according to Stanford Medicine, is a naturally occurring psychedelic that comes from the root bark of the Central West African shrub Tabernanthe iboga, which can help treat addiction, among other ailments.
