Chapter 6 - The Decryption (Extended Version).

The flickering fluorescent lights overhead hummed with a low, irritating frequency.
The air inside the abandoned warehouse grew colder as the night deepened outside.
Rainwater continued to pelt the corrugated steel roof in a relentless, heavy rhythm.
The commander stood directly in front of the bound woman in the silver gown.
He dangled Julian's flash drive right before her eyes like a mocking pendulum.
"Recognize this?" the commander asked, his voice dripping with arrogance.
The woman in silver stared at the small metal object with fierce determination.
Her jaw tightened, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a verbal reaction.
"It's Julian's little insurance policy," the commander continued, breaking the silence.
"And inside it contains every single transaction between your syndicate and the offshore accounts," he added smoothly.
She finally broke her silence, her voice cold and steady.
"Julian is a coward who doesn't know anything of value," she retorted sharply.
The commander let out a low, amused chuckle.
"Is that so?" he countered, plugging the flash drive into a rugged portable terminal on a nearby metal desk.
The terminal screen flickered to life, casting a bright blue glow across his scarred face.
He typed a quick sequence of commands into the keyboard with practiced speed.
A progress bar appeared on the screen, loading the encrypted files with surprising ease.
"Let's see how long your loyalty lasts once you see what your partners wrote about you," the commander murmured.
The loading bar hit one hundred percent with a soft electronic beep.
A list of encrypted folders spilled across the monitor display.
The commander clicked on the primary directory labeled 'Project Janus'.
A series of audio logs and scanned documents popped up instantly.
He clicked on the most recent audio file dated from earlier that very evening.
A familiar voice echoed through the quiet warehouse speakers.
It was Will's voice, calm, calculated, and entirely betraying.
"The operation is set for tonight," the audio recording began clearly.
"Once the tactical team breaches the dining hall, take the primary target alive and eliminate the rest," Will's voice instructed coldly on the recording.
The captive woman's breath caught in her throat as the harsh reality struck her like a physical blow.
The voice was unmistakable.
There was no digital alteration or deepfake trickery.
It was Will, the man she had sworn to protect and partner with for over a decade.
Tears welled up in her eyes again, burning fiercely with a mixture of grief and pure, unadulterated rage.
"Does that sound like a misunderstanding?" the commander asked softly, stopping the playback.
The warehouse fell completely dead silent once more.
The weight of the betrayal crushed every remaining illusion she had harbored.
"He planned all of this," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly before hardening into steel.
"He planned it from the very beginning just to take full control of the assets," she added bitterly.
The commander nodded slowly in acknowledgment.
"At least you're finally seeing the bigger picture," the commander remarked.
"Now, the only question left is what you are going to do about it," he said, leaning closer.
"Will you go down protecting a traitor, or will you help us settle the score?" the commander offered, presenting a chilling choice.
She looked up at him, her eyes burning with a dark, dangerous fire.
"Untie my hands," she demanded fiercely.
The commander smiled, knowing he had finally broken her defenses.
He pulled a small tactical knife from his belt and sliced through the leather straps binding her wrists.
She rubbed her chafed skin, her mind racing with plans for ultimate vengeance.
The game had completely changed, and the hunter was about to become the hunted.
She stood up slowly from the metal chair, her legs slightly stiff from hours of restraint.
The commander watched her every movement with a cautious, calculating gaze.
"Don't mistake this alliance for trust," she warned, her voice laced with venom.
"Trust is a luxury neither of us can afford," the commander replied evenly.
He tossed a tactical communications headset onto the desk in front of her.
"Put that on if you want real-time updates on Will's current location," the commander instructed.
She snatched the headset off the metal table and secured it over her ear.
A soft static hiss buzzed in her ear before a secondary voice crackled through the channel.
"Target has boarded his private helicopter at the downtown landing pad," a scout reported.
The woman clenched her fists so hard her fingernails dug deep into her palms.
"Where is he heading?" she demanded into the microphone.
"Flight path indicates an offshore private island facility," the scout answered instantly.
The commander stepped forward, tapping a map displayed on the secondary monitor screen.
"That island is a heavily fortified black-site bunker," the commander explained grimly.
"Standard infiltration is impossible without inside access codes," he added.
The woman stared at the map, her analytical mind immediately calculating every possible angle.
"I know the backdoor security protocols," she stated coldly.
The commander raised an eyebrow, a flicker of genuine surprise crossing his features.
"You built the security system?" he asked.
"I designed every single layer of defense on that island," she confirmed with a dark smirk.
The tables had turned in a way neither of them could have anticipated an hour ago.
"Then I suppose we have ourselves a partnership," the commander said, holding out a gloved hand.
She looked at his extended hand for a long, agonizing second.
Slowly, she raised her hand and grasped his palm in a firm, unyielding grip.

"We hunt Will together," she declared, the promise of destruction hanging thick in the air.
Outside, the storm raged on, completely unaware of the deadly alliance forged within the shadows.
