Chapter 11 - The Fall of the Titan

11 - 15

The penthouse boardroom of Vance Logistics was no longer a temple of untouchable corporate power; it had transformed into a war room of sheer, unadulterated panic. The live financial feeds on the massive wall monitors flashed with bright red warning banners as federal asset-freezing orders cascaded through international banking networks, instantly locking down billions of dollars in corporate capital and personal accounts.

Richard Vance stood frozen before the floor-to-ceiling windows, watching as three unmarked federal black-and-white cruisers pulled up to the entrance below, disgorging a dozen armed federal marshals in tactical vests.

The heavy boardroom doors slammed open without warning.

Four federal marshals marched into the room, their weapons holstered but their postures rigid and uncompromising. Leading the team was the senior supervisory agent, holding a signed federal arrest warrant.

"Richard Vance," the agent announced loudly, his voice echoing off the glass walls. "You are under arrest for federal racketeering, wire fraud, RICO violations, and conspiracy. Put your hands behind your back."

Richard didn't turn around immediately. He took a slow, steady breath, smoothing the lapels of his Brioni suit with the cold dignity of a defeated monarch. He turned slowly, his glacial blue eyes locking onto the federal agent with lingering contempt.

"You’re making a monumental mistake," Richard said smoothly, his voice dropping into a chilling register. "An empire like Vance Logistics doesn't vanish because of a disgruntled former auditor with a stolen flash drive. The economy runs on the supply chains I control."

"Your supply chains just became federal property, Mr. Vance," the agent replied coldly, stepping forward and clamping cold steel handcuffs around Richard Vance’s wrists with a sharp, metallic click.

As Richard was hauled away toward the elevators, Julian Vance was already being pinned against the boardroom table by two other marshals, his face pale and contorted in tearful disbelief.

Down on the ground floor, as Richard Vance was escorted out through the revolving glass doors into a storm of flashing camera lights and shouting journalists, he caught sight of a familiar figure standing across the street on the sidewalk.

Eleanor Porter stood beside Daniel Hawthorne, watching the fall of the titan with calm, unflinching eyes. She wore her sharp navy pantsuit, her posture straight, her gaze locked directly onto Richard Vance’s humiliated face.

Richard stopped for a fraction of a second, his eyes locking onto hers through the crowd of reporters. In that brief, silent exchange, the multi-billion-dollar corporate predator realized the absolute truth: you can buy politicians, you can silence auditors, and you can plant diamond necklaces in a maid's satchel—but you can never defeat a woman who has nothing left to lose and everything to reclaim.

As the police cruiser doors slammed shut, sealing Richard Vance inside, the Vance Logistics empire officially ceased to exist.
