Chapter 15 - The Father Who ReturnedOlivia could barely breathe.

The man she had believed abandoned her sister was alive.
His name was Michael.
He had disappeared before the triplets were born.
For years, Olivia had believed he had simply walked away.
Now she learned he had been involved in the network.
Caleb studied the documents.
“Where is he?”
Daniel answered.
“New York.”
Security located him within hours.
Michael agreed to meet.
He arrived at a hotel surrounded by federal agents.
When Olivia saw him, she felt anger rather than relief.
“You're alive.”
Michael looked down.
“Yes.”
“You knew about the babies.”
“Yes.”
“You knew my sister was dying.”
His eyes filled with tears.
“Yes.”
Olivia slapped him.
Nobody stopped her.
“You left her.”
“I was trying to protect you.”
“You always have an excuse.”
Michael shook his head.
“I don't deserve forgiveness.”
“No.”
He nodded.
“I know.”
He gave federal investigators everything he knew.
Names.
Accounts.
Locations.
Emails.
The network collapsed within weeks.
Victor Lang was arrested.
Several executives were charged.
The illegal adoption operation was shut down.
The stolen money was recovered.
And most importantly, Olivia's sister's name was cleared.
She had not been irresponsible.
She had been trying to expose criminals.
Months later, the triplets were told the truth about their biological father.
They were old enough to understand.
But they still called Caleb Dad.
Michael accepted that.
One afternoon, he asked Caleb privately:
“Do you hate me?”
Caleb looked at him.
“I hate what you did.”
Michael nodded.
“That’s fair.”
“But you helped expose them.”
“I owed that to the children.”
Caleb extended his hand.
Michael hesitated before accepting it.
It was not friendship.
Not yet.
May you like
But it was peace.
And sometimes peace was the first step toward healing.
