PART 2 — The Accident That Was Never an Accident

Ryan's hands began to shake.

The detective calmly opened the file and spread several photographs across the hospital table.

The first showed Clara's mangled car after the brake failure six months earlier.

The second revealed a cut brake line.

The third showed a mechanic secretly handing an envelope to Eleanor Lancaster.

Ryan stared at the images in silence.

"You've got the wrong person," he muttered.

Detective Hayes slid another document toward him.

"No. We finally found the right family."

The room fell silent.

The detective continued, "Your wife's injuries weren't caused by bad luck. Every so-called accident she suffered over the past three years was carefully planned."

Clara froze.

"What... what did you say?"

Hayes looked at her gently.

"You didn't survive one accident, Mrs. Lancaster."

"You survived four murder attempts."

The words hit the room like an explosion.

Ryan immediately stood.

"That's ridiculous!"

"You have no proof."

Hayes calmly opened another folder.

"We have surveillance footage."

"Phone records."

"Financial transfers."

"And testimony from someone who worked inside your family's mansion."

Ryan's confident expression slowly disappeared.

The detective placed one final photograph on the table.

It showed Ryan standing beside a damaged black SUV only hours before Clara's brake failure.

"You told investigators you never went near your wife's vehicle."

Ryan swallowed hard.

"I..."

"You lied."

The nurse standing beside Clara covered her mouth in shock.

Clara stared at her husband.

"Ryan..."

"Were you there?"

He couldn't answer.

Instead, he looked toward the door, hoping someone would save him.

Almost as if on cue...

The hospital room burst open.

Eleanor Lancaster stormed inside, dressed in an elegant designer suit.

"What is the meaning of this?"

She glared at Detective Hayes.

"My son is not answering another question."

Hayes smiled calmly.

"Mrs. Lancaster..."

"I've been waiting for you."

He removed another envelope from his briefcase.

"This one is addressed to you."

Eleanor opened it confidently.

Seconds later...

Her smile vanished.

Inside was a bank statement showing millions of dollars transferred over the past five years to mechanics, private investigators, doctors, and security personnel.

Every payment matched the dates of Clara's so-called accidents.

Eleanor slowly looked up.

For the first time...

Fear appeared in her eyes.

Then Detective Hayes delivered the sentence that changed everything.

"Mrs. Lancaster... you're no longer here as a concerned mother."

"You're here as the primary suspect."
