Chapter 5 – The Butterfly Returns Home

A week later, the wedding guests gathered again in the same chapel.
This time, there were no secrets.
Before the ceremony began, Margaret walked toward Emily.
Instead of anger, she gently adjusted the repaired shoulder of Emily's wedding dress.
"I almost destroyed the happiest day of your life."
Emily smiled softly.
"You gave me something I never thought I'd have."
"A mother."
Margaret embraced her daughter for the first time in nearly three decades.
Tears filled every eye in the chapel.
Ethan took Emily's hand.
"Ready?"
She nodded.
"More than ever."
Reverend Brooks smiled warmly.
"Shall we begin again?"
This time, no one interrupted.
As the couple exchanged vows, sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows and illuminated the butterfly pendant resting gently above the butterfly-shaped birthmark.
For Margaret, it was more than a coincidence.
