In the quiet moments between legal battles, Eleanor and I talked.
She told me about my father — how brave he had been, how much he had loved me even as a baby.
She told me about the years she had spent searching, the false leads, the heartbreak.
I told her about my life — the foster homes, the loneliness, the way I had married Julian because I thought no one else would ever want me.
