Chapter 12: The Purge Protocol
The explosion rocked the subterranean bunker. The far wall blew inward, showering the room in concrete dust and
severing the main power line. Emergency red lights flared to life, casting the room in a bloody glow.
Silas stumbled, his grip on Lily loosening just enough. Jack tackled the giant man, driving his combat knife deep
into Silas’s thigh. Silas roared, dropping the revolver, and smashed a fist into Jack’s ribs. The sickening crack
echoed through the chamber.
Lily scrambled away, crawling toward the glass server core.
"Victoria! Stop the child!" Evelyn shrieked, drawing her own weapon.
Victoria turned her gun on Lily. But Arthur’s cache had included one more secret. "Lily! The panel!" Jack shouted
through the blood filling his mouth.
Lily slammed her small, bloody hand onto the core’s biometric scanner. The system chimed. "DNA recognized.
Arthur Vance Security Override. Purge Protocol Initiated."
