Chapter 7 - The Hidden Ledger

While the officers cuffed Sophia in the living room, Sarah Sterling was reviewing the financial records seized from the master office desk.
"Andrew," Sarah called out, holding up a stack of bank routing documents. "Look at this."
Andrew walked over. "What is it?"
"Sophia didn't just target Valerie out of sadistic vanity," Sarah revealed, pointing to a series of offshore transfers. "She was systematically liquidating the $20 million testamentary trust fund left to Valerie by her late mother, Clara."
Andrew’s eyes narrowed. "Clara’s trust? That trust was locked under dual-signature authorization!"
"She forged your digital signature using keylogger software she installed on your home computer six months ago," Sarah explained. "She’s transferred over $4 million to a shell company in the Cayman Islands to cover her brother’s illegal real estate debts."
Sophia, whose hands were now cuffed behind her back, snarled from the hallway as the officers dragged her toward the door. "You think you're so smart, Andrew! You were never here! You neglected her! You gave me that house!"

Andrew walked right up to her, his shadow towering over her trembling frame.
"I gave you my trust," Andrew said softly. "And you used it to torture an innocent child. You aren't just going to prison for abuse, Sophia. You're going to prison for grand larceny, wire fraud, and treason against this family."
