Chapter 7: The Safe Deposit Key
Leaving the apartment, Grant drove straight to his mother’s house. He bypassed the security system and went directly to Eleanor’s study. He needed to find the physical key to the deposit box before Lydia realized it wasn't at the bridal shop.
He tore the study apart, looking behind paintings and under floorboards. Finally, taped beneath a loose drawer of her mahogany desk, he felt the cold, jagged edge of a brass key. He slipped it into his pocket just as he heard the front door creak open downstairs.
