Chapter 29 - The Sister’s Secret|

Marcus’s face twisted into an ugly mask of pure rage. “Kill her!” he screamed at his bodyguards.
But before a single gun could be drawn, Ethan moved with lethal precision. He fired two suppressed shots into the ceiling, the deafening cracks sending the billionaire guests screaming and diving under tables.
“Nobody moves!” Ethan commanded. Silas’s men flooded the ballroom from the kitchen exits, disarming Marcus’s security detail within seconds.
Marcus fell to his knees, staring at the screens displaying his complete financial ruin. He looked up at Natalie, his eyes wide with a sudden, horrifying realization. “You don't understand,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “I wasn't the mastermind. I was just the banker. If you destroy me, he will come for you.”
“Who?” Natalie stepped closer, looking down at him with disgust.
“Victor Thorne,” Marcus choked out the name like it was a curse. “The second name on your list. He is the true head of the syndicate. He is the one who ordered your father’s death.”
Before Marcus could say another word, the massive glass window behind him shattered. A high-caliber sniper bullet tore through the air and struck Marcus squarely in the chest. He collapsed instantly, a pool of dark blood spreading across the marble floor.
“Sniper! Get down!” Ethan roared, tackling Natalie to the floor as a second bullet shattered the ice sculpture.
Silas dragged them toward the service elevator. “Victor is cleaning house! He’s erasing the loose ends!”

They barely escaped the hotel, speeding back to the safehouse in silence. Natalie’s hands were shaking, not from fear, but from the adrenaline.
When they arrived, Chloe was awake, waiting in the command center. She looked at Natalie’s bloody suit and burst into tears. “Nat, I remembered something. When we were kids. The man who used to visit Mom… the man with the scar on his jaw.”
