Chapter 37 - The Fall of Thorne|

“This is impossible,” Victor muttered, frantically pressing the comms button on his radio. “Bravo team, report! Report!”
Only dead static answered him.
Natalie turned to the board of directors, who were watching the exchange in sheer terror. “As of this moment, Victor Thorne has no power, no leverage, and no company. The police are waiting in the lobby. I suggest you all cooperate with the authorities if you want to avoid prison.”
Victor let out a primal roar of fury. He dropped the useless detonator and lunged at Natalie, pulling a hidden stiletto knife from his sleeve.
Before the blade could even come close to her, Silas moved. The gunshot was deafening in the enclosed glass room. Victor screamed in agony, collapsing to the floor, clutching his shattered kneecap. Blood pooled on the expensive mahogany floor.
Natalie stood above him, not a single hair out of place. She looked down at the man who had haunted her family's existence for three decades.
“You wanted me to embrace my bloodline, Victor,” Natalie said coldly. “Consider it embraced. I am ruthless. But unlike you, I protect my family.”
The boardroom doors burst open again, this time flooded by heavily armed FBI agents and SWAT units. Silas lowered his weapon, raising his hands peacefully as the agents swarmed Victor, disarming him and dragging him to his bleeding feet.

“It’s over,” Silas said, stepping next to Natalie.
She watched them drag her biological father away, listening to him curse her name until the elevator doors closed. The crushing weight that had sat on her chest since she was a little girl finally lifted. The shadow of the syndicate was broken. She had won.
